Indian Traditional Knowledge on Environmental Conservation

Indian religions have been the advocates of environmental conservation. The ancient religious texts associated with Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism have many references of reverence for tree, rivers, and animals.  The religions and sects campaigned for such guidelines to the commoners that ensured a sense of belonging in nature.
